Hair falling down after delivery

I had my baby and after the delivery all of my hair is falling down! Am I going to be bald?

Hair falling down after delivery

All women are affected with hair loss after the baby delivery, some more and some less, but all of them have it.

When I will have my hair back?

When I had my first baby, after the delivery, I was really worried about my hair loss and I went to an excellent specialist, who told me it is normal.

The hair loss become more intense 3 months after the baby born, because the hormones activity are back to the normal and the hair that does not felt down during the pregnancy starts to fall down.

But don’t worry, you will not be bald! New strands of hair will born and they will substitute the old ones.

With lots of new strands of hair, the sensation of ruffled hair could increase, because the new strands sometimes are not heavy enough to fall down and we become like hedgehogs.

It is important to highlight that the hair loss after delivery is homogeneous. So, you should not have holes or flaws in your head. If your hair is falling down like this, talk with your dermatologist, because the origin of your hair loss, probably is another one.

Your hair, after delivery, could also be more opaque.

But around 6-8 months after the delivery, the loss tends to normalize.

If you are loosing a lot of hair, or if you are bothered with it, or if your hair continues falling down after this period, it is good to settle an appointment with your dermatologist, in order to check it better and you be relaxed!
